Fabian Velez is Chief Operating Officer (COO), Master Grower, and Co-Founder at AgriTech North, where he guides day-to-day operations, long-term operational strategy, and the development of resilient food-production systems for Northern communities. Since co-founding the organization in 2021, he has played a central role in designing and implementing business procedures, overseeing projects and initiatives, monitoring performance, and fostering a collaborative workplace culture aligned with AgriTech North’s mission and vision.
With a background that spans operations, customer service, team leadership, and horticulture, Fabian brings a practical and people-centered approach to his work. Before AgriTech North, he held management and service roles across Oregon and California, including General Manager at a restaurant, where he oversaw hiring, payroll, scheduling, training, inventory, and customer relations in a fast-paced environment. He also studied horticulture at Portland Community College (PCC), adding formal plant and growing knowledge to his operational experience.
Fabian is also active in community service in Dryden and across Northwestern Ontario. He serves as a board member of True Wealth Foundation (TWF), is a member of the Rotary Club of Dryden, and a Director of the Dryden Horticultural Society, contributing to initiatives focused on food sovereignty, sustainability, education, inclusion, and community resilience.
