Tuscan-Style Tomato Sauce

Slow-cooked Italian tomatoes form the base of this rich and flavourful Tuscan-style sauce. Sweet pepper, garlic, and extra virgin olive oil add layers of savoury flavour while allowing the natural taste of the tomatoes to remain at the forefront.

Versatile and easy to use, it’s a convenient staple for creating delicious Italian-inspired meals at home.

Uses:
Ideal for pasta dishes, this sauce can also be used to prepare pappa al pomodoro, a traditional Tuscan tomato and bread soup. It can be enjoyed warm, chilled, or at room temperature.

For pasta, a good starting point is approximately 375 mL (1½ cups) of sauce for 500 g (1 lb) of pasta. For an especially smooth finish, stir ¼–½ cup of reserved pasta cooking water into the sauce before adding your pasta. The starchy water helps loosen the sauce and allows it to coat the pasta more evenly.

Ingredients: Tomato pulp and cherry tomato purée 93% (Italy), extra virgin olive oil, garlic, sea salt, sweet pepper, pepper, acidifier: citric acid.
